Avara Construction delivered a new 6,733 SF indoor climbing and training facility for ROQ Climbing in Seattle. Led by owner Michael Hauss, the ROQ team collaborated with Avara and Upward Architecture & Interiors to create a high-performance environment designed for movement, strength, and community. Our team was selected for our early pre-construction involvement, clear coordination, and proven experience in specialty tenant improvements.
The project included a complete interior renovation of the first floor of a mixed-use building. Core spaces include a large exercise and training area, fully outfitted locker and sauna facilities, and a welcoming reception zone. Climbing systems and infrastructure were developed in close partnership with Maverick Climbing, ensuring the space is ready for advanced training and future wall installations. All mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems were upgraded to meet the needs of a performance-driven fitness facility.
Key Project Highlights:
-
Open Training Zone: Expansive floor area constructed for climbing systems and fitness equipment
-
Reception and Member Lounge: Bright, clean entry area to welcome visitors and manage check-ins
Modern Locker Rooms: Men’s and women’s changing areas with showers and built-in sauna rooms
