Avara served as the general contractor for the renovation of Franklin High School’s gymnasium, including the locker rooms and common area. The project modernized the existing facilities with comprehensive upgrades to both athletic spaces and interior finishes. Scope highlights include installing a new high-performance wood court to replace the aging sports flooring, adding a retractable bleacher system, and updating equipment and décor to current standards. The result is a refreshed gym that provides students with a safe, modern environment for athletics and school events.
Key Project Highlights:
-
High-Performance Sports Flooring – Installation of a new resilient maple wood gym floor with regulation court markings, offering improved durability and playability for basketball and other sports.
-
Retractable Bleacher Seating – New motorized telescoping bleachers were added to maximize seating capacity while saving floor space when retracted, providing flexibility for both large events and everyday use.
-
Modern Athletic Equipment – Upgrades included ceiling-hung basketball hoops and backboards, a digital scoreboard, and updated wall padding, enhancing functionality and safety for players and spectators.
-
Interior Finish & Structural Updates – The gym’s interior received fresh paint and improved finishes. The open, double-height ceiling was retained for ample clearance, with any needed structural reinforcements integrated to support the new equipment and ensure long-term integrity of the facility.
